The importance of Revision Confidence

The Importance of Revision Confidence.

The majority of students that work with me are re-sitters.

Having failed their exams (normally more than once) and either don’t know where to start or need to try a new strategy.

Do you know what they all have in common? – A lack of revision confidence.

The re-sit and their revision approach has brought them down – the hard work, the tears, the stress, spending loads of time revising … for another fail!

That’s not what you work so hard for – is it?!

You wanna actually pass your re-sit don’t you?!

And I really want you to feel confident that you can do that!

I know the knowledge is important and of course you need to be able to recall the knowledge correctly for each question.

However please do not underestimate the power of your confidence!

💪🏻 Revising with confidence!

💪🏻 Having self confidence!

💪🏻 Focusing and improving the confidence in your knowledge recall!

What does confidence mean to you?

Leave a comment – let me know!

Confidence to me is feeling proud of myself – strong, empowered and happy.

I’m a super competitive lady, but rarely care about what most other people do or think. I judge myself against myself.

I work hard on myself and my goals so that I feel 12 out of 10!

Does that make me arrogant?

Does that look like I’m showing off?!

I don’t think so!

Am I confident – heck YES!

Am I a proud CIMA member – absolutely!

Have I worked bloody hard to have my academics and career achievements – oh my gosh – YES!

Do I bring out the confidence of my students – yes. Every single day and I fricking LOVE it!

So let’s talk about you and the revision confidence you need!

I’m going to break this blog down into 2 areas:

1 – Revision confidence during your 4 week revision phase

2 – Revision tools for revision confidence

Revision Phase

Yes, I recommend a 4 week revision phase, so that you can practice in smart ways and repeat that practice so that you master your exam day strategy & techniques

(I love the word & tone of master and mastering something – makes me feel so empowered and strong!)

If you don’t believe you can pass your exam … then you probably won’t pass = there I said it!

So – for 30 days in a row I encourage you to have a positive mindset. Keep improving it and working on it every day – just like you’re working on your knowledge base.

There is no point having a strong knowledge base if you cannot recall the answers confidently.

I want you to feel confident and grow in confidence during your revision phase.

Can I be real with you – my students come to me for exam coaching and exam techniques, but they leave with their confidence positively transformed.

Just this week, my previous student R came back for some revision coaching.

Last year I coached him through his P1 and OCS exams – which he passed 1st time and his confidence grew so much!

Now he has tried F2 and P2 himself but failed a few times … no that doesn’t mean I’m a rubbish coach – it goes to show that firstly the exams are hard! And secondly having on going coaching support makes a big difference!

I’m really looking forward to supporting R to pass his F2 in March and F2 later – of course I will give him a revision plan, exam techniques and an exam day strategy … but this will be underpinned with self confidence and coaching him on confidently recalling and practicing the right ways to specifically pass.

The 3 key things I promise with my coaching are Specific – Structured – Support.

Most importantly in your revision phase is to stay focused on how great you feel and completing revision tasks that make you feel confident.

Imagine walking into your re-sit feeling confident and knowing you can pass!

The point of Revision tools are to directly support you with your revision.

Practice what you need to in order to put in place and pass on exam day!

I talk about this next revision tool a lot … I think it’s time to write a blog just on this one … because without it you just have a blank piece of paper – and that is the least motivating thing ever!

📝 Of course it’s a revision plan! 📝

YES I ask you to write a revision plan aaallllll of the time!

But do you know why?! … Because it transforms your revision confidence!

By having clear structured tasks in place allows you to feel calmer, which gives you more brain power to revise, which in turns increases your exam confidence.

If you haven’t written your revision plan – what are you waiting for?!

I would like you to engage your brain and switch on your positive mindset.

🧠 Every single day 🧠

Actually – every second of every minute!

Yes really!

Let’s use your brain to bring out your revision confidence!

This week over on Linkedin I am coaching and talking about confidence.

My SCS Students are sitting their exams this week eeekkk – and I’m on full on cheerleading mode to keep their confidence high when it matters the most!

I implore you to focus on your confidence this week.
